Eye Floaters Risk Factors

February 21, 2012

Eye floaters are particles or deposits of condensation in the vitreous jelly, which makes 80 percent of the eye. Floating spots around the eye is a common symptom for floaters. The vitreous humor in the eye is normally found along the sides of the optic nerve. Due to floaters, the vitreous begins to shrink and the attachment to the optic nerve is released and the attachment is seen floating with the eye, giving rise to floaters.

The risk factor for eye floaters is age – people over the age of 65 are seen having this problem. Also shortsightedness or myopia is a risk factor that actually triggers floater earlier in life. A condition known as posterior vitreous detachment is common among people in younger age who are known to be nearsighted. This may result in depletion of oxygen and nutrients to the eye. Diabetes is also a risk factor for floaters, a condition that arises due to a health issue called diabetic retinopathy. Eye injury is also a risk for floaters.

Very Good Blog for Oral Health Information

February 2, 2012

OTHERWISE: December 2009I used to have a problem with bad breath, and I managed to solve this problem by researching the topic and pinpointing the root cause of bad breath for me. I didn’t realise before, but I found out on www.badbreathfix.net that I had an adverse reaction to garlic which reacts badly with my body and creates a nasty smelling breath and sweat.

It’s actually profound how a small block of garlic can adversely affect my body odour. To the extent that people can physically wreak when they smell my breath. Of course people are far too polite to explicitly say it, but I can tell from their reaction that they definately do not appreciate the smell.

It’s very embarassing because a lot of people assume that bad breath must be caused by poor oral hygiene. Nothing could be further from the truth because I look after my teeth and brush 2 times a day at least.

If I Get Pulled over for a DUI, Can I Get Off?

February 2, 2012

EVERYBODY should know their Drinking Limits. If I get pulled over for a DUI, can I get off?

Most importantly, save yourself the headache and trouble of a DUI and know your BAC Alcohol level. You never want to find yourself in that type of situation.

However, if you get pulled over and you register a .08%, .09% and maybe .10%, there is a possibility that a lawyer might be able to help you.

When people drink, it often takes time for alcohol to get into their blood stream. Therefore, sometimes people get in their car and are driving home and are still under the .08% limit. However, if they get pulled over it sometimes takes 1-2 hours for them to process the paperwork and to get the blood test. By that time, it is possible that you will be over the limit as the alcohol has moved into your bloodstream.

The best course of action is to never find yourself in that situation. Stay out of trouble, use a BAC Calculator and stay DUI-free.

Important Lifestyle Changes As Part of Drug Rehab

January 28, 2012

Addiction recovery through drug rehab is a lifelong effort. Addiction is an incurable disease, and people who complete drug rehab will have to fight cravings for the rests of their lives. In order to help their patients sustain the progress they make during clinical treatment, rehab specialists focus on creating large-scale lifestyle changes. Here are a few of the ways addicts’ day-to-day lives change after drug rehab.

New Social Lives

Close friends have enormous effect on the thoughts and behaviors of most people – including recovering addicts. People who complete rehab must find new friends who will support them in their efforts to maintain sobriety. These friends should also be people who don’t drink or use drugs themselves, and who tend not to congregate in places where drug abuse is common.

Rapidly Responding to Stress

Stress that has little effect on most people can cause severe drug cravings in recovering addicts. Drug rehab patients learn a number of strategies for avoiding certain stressors while mitigating the effects of others. They also learn cognitive-behavioral techniques that allow them to rationally overcome their negative emotions. Diligent, daily practice of these techniques is essential for staying clean.

Regular Exercise

A fit body is important for fending off cravings caused by physical exhaustion and sickness. People who complete drug rehab must incorporate regular exercise into their daily routines in order to avoid drug cravings and blow off steam.

Exercise also causes the brain to release dopamine, providing a similar euphoric effect to drugs and alcohol. Addicts can safely satisfy and suppress their drug cravings with brief, intense workouts which cause large amounts of dopamine to be released.

Quality Nutrition

Even addicts who don’t have weight, blood pressure, or cholesterol problems need to practice excellent dietary habits. A diet of complex carbohydrates, lean protein, and essential fatty acids helps to maintain high energy and even blood sugar levels. This supports the happy moods and clear minds required to avoid relapse when dealing with the daily stresses of life as a recovering addict.

Changes to Daily Rituals

Addicts typically incorporate drugs into their daily routines during periods of active use. Getting high is interspersed with benign activities such as cooking, cleaning, getting dressed, and checking emails. To avoid constant reminders of drug use, addicts must often change the manner and order in which they go about everyday tasks – tasks which most people take for granted. January 27, 2012

rheumatoid arthritis was my diagnosis that summer i had aThe early signs of rheumatoid arthritis are the most difficult to spot. They cannot be spotted easily because they are not consistent with their appearance. The common symptoms are joint pain and swelling, but sometimes, you do not bother to have a check up with your doctor. For example, it is your first time to experience the joint pain on your knees. Of course, it will not come into your mind immediately that you may have a rheumatoid arthritis. Instead, you may think that it is because you lack exercise or you have overworked yourself. Overworking your body especially your joints can cause joint pain and swelling as well.

You do not have to suffer from the pain that is caused by rheumatoid arthritis if you just go to the doctor and ask how it is to be treated. Do not assume that your knee pain can be caused by overworking or lack of exercise immediately.
